Two Sabbaths

Every weekend contains two Sabbaths…Saturday for some, and Sunday for others. Whichever you celebrate, be blessed. For those who choose not to recognize either, may your weekend be what you choose it to  be.

Have a Great weekend....:

Life’s Changing Seasons

The leaves are turning yellow,

the grass with stunted growing,

is changing with the seasons,

no longer needing mowing.

Fall is falling into place

awaiting winter’s cold,

spring and summer…come and gone

like winter’s transient snow.

And life goes on…

or sometimes doesn’t;

does it really matter what was…

or what wasn’t?

What matters most is that we know

how much to love, how deep to grow;

just a few of many reasons

to appreciate life’s changing seasons.

If you are in the spring of life

or summer’s slowing pace

be prepared for autumn

to usher winter’s grace.

Though leaves are turning yellow,

And grass is withering,

summer, fall and winter await the birth of spring.

Eastern Towhee

Yesterday I saw a different bird in the yard. It looked almost like a Halloween bird, with its black hood, black wings, and a streak of orange on part of its underbelly. It belongs to the sparrow family and yet I’ve never seen it before. It was my pleasant surprise for the day. It’s always nice to see something different in what can be the sameness of many days. Happy Halloween.

Go Out In Joy

“You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace…and the trees of the field will clap their hands”.  Isaiah 55:12. Try looking for this happy sight! (See more than you’re looking at.) Happy Sunday.

May Your Sunday Be Blessed

Today

Today, may your burden be a little lighter,

your life be a little brighter,

your love be a little stronger,

and your hugs last a little longer…

today.

May God bless your day with what you need to live it fully.

Third Time Around

Because I love love so much, I’m posting one of my favorite love poems for the third time in the hopes that someone, somewhere, will benefit from the reading, whether for the first, second, or third time around. This was first posted in 2014:

I love love; not necessarily just romantic love, but love of all kinds. I love babies, animals, friends, family. I love sunshine, moonlight, stars, trees, flowers. I love oceans, seas, lakes and rivers. I love singing, dancing, laughing, writing, daydreaming, night-dreaming, holding hands, hugging, being happy and seeing others happy. I love God and how he spent so much time talking about love in his Book of Books. Love is the most written about topic in the Bible, and the greatest commandment of all time is “Love one another!”

I’m going to share another of my poems here, and what’s it about? Love of course.

SHADOWS IN THE WIND

Perfect love is fulfillment

in perpetual motion,

seeing with the heart’s eye

that which the mind cannot grasp,

acknowledging the human need

for closeness under all conditions,

realizing that aloofness is a

suit of armor worn by those

who fear perfect love

is beyond their realm,

understanding the merest

reaching out of a heart’s desire,

passion and compassion hand in hand,

longing and belonging heart to heart.

Will it ever be reality

or are we pursuing shadows in the wind?

Will it ever be reality? I’d love to think so.
