Peace Be With You

In the midst of a pandemic, peace be with you.

In the midst of protests, peace be with you.

Missing the human touch, peace be with you.

If you are still staying home, peace be with you.

Whether the day be sunny or gray, peace be with you.

Happy Saturday.

Venturing Out

Today I’m thinking of venturing out to Canadian Tire for a couple of paint brushes. It will be my first retail experience in three months if you don’t count getting my snow tires changed over. Back in the eighties, one of my daughters gave me the following quote in the form of a wall plaque. It will be in my mind the whole time I’m out.

Lord, help me to remember that nothing is going to happen today that You and I can’t handle together.

Just a Click Away

As mentioned last Sunday, church is not the building. Today you are invited to attend a different church. It’s just a click away thanks to AndiesIsle.com which is an experience in itself. Most services are an hour or more but this experience is less than five minutes.  Happy Sunday.

My video “The Nature of God” has a new address

Church in the Wildwood

For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them. Matthew 18: 20

With most churches and places of worship closed due to Covid-19, there are ways and means of still attending some kind of spiritual service, whether online or by telephone. We are to remember that the church is the people not the building. Here is a Church in the Wildwood to lift our spirits even though we aren’t able to accept the invitation at this time. Happy Sunday.

An Odd Ode

Not one to let a day go by without putting pen to paper (or fingers to keyboards), here is an attempt at putting Covid-19 in perspective from my point of view.

Ode to Covid-19

It’s been nearly ten weeks now

Since I’ve been out the door

to visit all the places

I frequently explored.

My mind is playing tricks on me

I thought today was Sunday

and went online to church today

but it’s already Monday.

I’ve been told to “Stay at home!”

’cause I’m considered old

which wasn’t what I thought I was

until Corona Virus took its hold.

Stay home and social distance

if someone comes your way,

and don’t forget to wash your hands

several times a day!”

My hands are very chapped and dry

from all that soap and water;

to add excitement to my life

I bought a teeter-totter.

The problem is there’s no one here

to weight the other end;

in order to get up again

I have to just pretend.

Which brings me to the closure

of this rambling bit of verse;

I hope my mind can stay the course

if this Virus gets much worse!

Another Mountain to Climb

Piggy backing on yesterday’s post, here’s another mountain to climb. Happy Sunday.

God said to Moses, “Climb higher up the mountain and wait there for me; I’ll give you tablets of stone, the teachings and commandments that I’ve written to instruct them.” So Moses got up, accompanied by Joshua his aide. And Moses climbed up the mountain of God. Exodus 24: 12-13

Climbing Mountains

Remembering childhood camp songs is one of my favorite things to do. I sang them to my children and their children; how many of them will remember, I have no idea. Here is one that helps keep a smile on some faces during this time of frowns and fears. Let’s climb Sunshine Mountain today. Happy Saturday.
