As promised, here are a few quotes from the famous author of The Prophet, Kahlil Gibran.
“If you love somebody, let them go, for if they return, they were always yours. If they don’t, they never were.”
“One day you will ask me which is more important? My life or yours? I will say mine and you will walk away not knowing that you are my life.”
“Beauty is not in the face; beauty is a light in the heart.”
“We are all like the bright moon, we still have our darker side.”
“You give but little when you give of your possessions. It is when you give of yourself that you truly give.”
“Out of suffering have emerged the strongest souls; the most massive characters are seared with scars.”
If the sun is shining brightly in your part of the world enjoy and absorb its energy. If your day is dull and drizzly there is always some brightness and color to be enjoyed somewhere.
This picture from Pinterest was in my Inbox this morning, and where I live the day is dull and drizzly. Behold the beauty!
When we truly want to know the meaning of something, whether a thought, a word, a conversation, a scripture, or even the meaning of life, it is good to reflect and consider the resulting enlightenment. As in the scripture below, with reflection comes insight. A social event on Friday gave me cause for reflection, and the insight that followed will be shared with someone as this day unfolds. Happy Sunday.
Reflect on what I am saying, for the Lord will give you insight into all this. 2 Timothy 2:7 NIV
It’s the time of year when nature displays her final burst of beauty and the trees let her work her wonders. Be sure to take time to enjoy the richness of it all as your weekend unfolds. Happy Saturday.
A new weekend is on the horizon and I hope it brings you an amazing day today. Happy Saturday.
I know, I know…I talk too much about my church. But look at this…she’s just passed two-hundred years old and prettier than ever. It is not only my place of worship but my sanctuary, my home away from home, (not counting Heaven) and where much of my life happens. May your day be picture perfect. Happy Saturday.
I’m always in awe of butterflies…not only their beauty but their brain. It is said that the brain of a butterfly is the size of a pinhead, and yet the Monarch can travel three thousand miles to Central America and end up at the same tree its ancestors landed on a generation or two earlier.
A butterfly expert once said, “The creation of the body of a caterpillar into the body and wings of a butterfly is without a doubt, one of the wonders of life on earth.” Another expert states that this metamorphosis is “rightly regarded as a miracle.”
There is so much interesting information on this transformation one can only wonder if the caterpillar was programmed to “be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” (Romans 12:2)
Can we all be so transformed? Indeed we can…the secret is in the choosing. Why live like a caterpillar when you can soar with the butterflies?
No matter the grayness that seems to permeate our newscasts, our relationships, our leaderships, our lives… there is always beauty to be found. Does it matter where it comes from? Find and cherish the beauty in your day. Happy Saturday.
As we walk along the boardwalk of life, though the boards are uneven at times, may our steps be guided and our trips be few. Happy Sunday.
Then you will travel safely on your way, and your foot will not stumble. Proverbs 3:23
