God didn’t pick perfect people to make himself known.
Moses was a murderer. (Exodus 2:12)
David was an adulterer and accomplice to murder. (Samuel 2:11)
Saul (Paul) hated Christians and terrorized them. (Acts 8:3)
Jacob was a deceiver. (Genesis 27)
And yet, these people had a starring role in God’s purpose for his people.
What is his purpose for us?
Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect. (The words of Jesus in Mathew 5:48)
We are to strive for perfection by making that phone call, paying that visit, forgiving that hurt, loving those who are difficult to love…and the list goes on.
We don’t have to remain imperfect people. Happy Sunday
Just imagine a life free from crime, cruelty, terrorism, injustice, hatred, devastating accidents of all kinds, uncaring people of all kinds also. Imagine no harsh words, no grudges, nobody turning their back to anyone. Just imagine a life encompassing the complete opposite of these all too common deeds. Wouldn’t it be great to live in a perfect world? Just imagine. Happy Saturday.
Is there anything more comforting in this world than to be able to trust completely?
I am starting out my brand new year once again placing complete trust in God because I know that I can trust him with my life and all its happenings. I sometimes get excited waiting to see what He has in store for me next.
When we trust in the Lord completely it is not difficult to get excited about what He does in our lives. I have often said to Him, “Lord, I hope you know what you are doing in this situation because I sure don’t.” And lo and behold, the perfect solution is manifested in ways that I never would have expected…or sometimes, even chosen.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Why do we say the things we say
that cut to the core of another’s
very essence…their heart and soul.
Why do we do the things we do
that boldly trample another’s
right to civility and compassion?
Why do we perceive an injustice
that was never the intent
of the friend, the sibling, the parent
the child, to whom we credit the deed.
Why not look into ourselves…
be the healer of the hurts.
Why not walk the high road and be
the balm….not the blister.
