So many people I know are suffering from severe physical pain which is depriving them of the quality of life they are meant to have.
Will you please join me in a prayer for pain for all people who are afflicted.
Our Father in Heaven, we pray for your healing love to touch all who are suffering debilitating pain in different parts of their bodies. We thank you that as you hear our prayers, you will touch each one with your healing power and set them free from back pain, neck pain, knee pain…any pain that is limiting your people in their daily activities. We thank you for hearing our prayers and answering them in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Thank you to all who will participate in this prayer for pain.
We have had a series of sermons on the Lord’s Prayer for the past few Sundays and it has been a wonderful learning experience to actually embrace the meaning of each sentence of that powerful prayer. I’m looking forward to, “For Yours is the Kingdom, the POWER, and the Glory, Forever. Amen.” Happy Sunday.
We sometimes think that change can be detrimental to our lives when in fact it can be very good for us. I’m thinking mostly of changes we make in ourselves and our thinking. It is interesting how scripture speaks of change. Happy Sunday
Be transformed by the renewing of your minds. Romans 12:2
If you really change your ways and your actions and deal with each other justly…Jeremiah 7:5
Unless you change…Matthew 18:3
We will all be changed…1 Corinthians 15:51
To be made new in the attitudes of your minds…Ephesians 4:23
And then there’s the Serenity Prayer:
God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.
Yesterday I learned of the death of twenty-seven-year-old Jona Kay who died in a car accident on May 7th. Jona is the granddaughter of Butch and Bonnie Dean, fellow bloggers and lovely people.
In their own words “There Are No Words” to describe the pain and anguish this family is suffering.
No, there are no words, but each of us can find words of prayer for God’s peace and comfort for Bonnie and Butch and all of Jona’s family.
Thank you for helping to ease their pain.
There was a recent incident in my life which could have caused me fear and the need for protection. I felt neither. Instead, I made a conscious decision to support the person involved and later prayed for confirmation that the right decision had been made. Within minutes a flock of five blue jays appeared in my yard. That seemed strange because I rarely see a blue jay. I googled that bird and read:
This bird may symbolize protection and fearlessness. If blue jays appear in your life you will feel safe and protected.
Confirmation received with thanks. Happy Sunday.
Today I am going to share with you a prayer request that went through our prayer chain yesterday in the hopes that any praying people will also offer prayer for a human in need. We usually pray for health problems and the like so this request is untypical but valid.
I know of a young man who is in Spiritual crisis at the moment. He needs to know and feel God’s love for him in a profound way. Please pray that as stated in Psalm 23 the Lord will restore his soul and lead him in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake. Pray that as he walks in the valley of the shadow of death he will fear no evil because God is with him.
Thank you for your heartfelt prayers. Happy Saturday.
My seven-year-old great-grandson loves his twenty-one-month-old little sister more than words can say. This picture says it all. Remember that saying, “actions speak louder than words”? This is it in a nutshell. My prayer is that we and the world would know such pure love.
A few weeks ago a friend was diagnosed with stage four cancer. She was devastated to hear this news and became sad and depressed.
After many more tests and appointments, she began to hope that with the right treatment, perhaps it wouldn’t be as bad as it sounded.
And then the other shoe dropped. Terminal. The prognosis is a few weeks, perhaps months.
This lady picked up the pieces of what life she has left and began preparing to die. Her affairs are in order and her family, while being heartbroken, is comfortingly close and supportive.
In conversation with her, I am overwhelmed by a sense of respect, admiration, and inspiration.
Her family, friends and church family are praying earnestly for a miracle.
As she faces her second chemo treatment today, which will hopefully prolong her life beyond the prognosis, I am praying for her, and hope whoever reads this, wherever in the world, will also offer prayer for this courageous lady.
Here is a lovely prayer I copied from somewhere at sometime and may have posted before but is worth posting again.
May today be all you need it to be. May the peace of God and the freshness of the Holy Spirit rest in your thoughts, rule in your dreams tonight, and conquer all your fears. May God manifest himself today in ways you have never experienced. May your joys be fulfilled, your dreams be closer, and your prayers be answered. I pray that faith enters a new height for you; I pray that your territory is enlarged. I pray for peace, healing, health, happiness, prosperity, joy, true and undying love for God. Amen.
Learning the ways of God can be very humbling. Some say they don’t bow to anyone but if we’re lucky, sooner or later God will have His way, and, as it is written, so it shall happen…the sooner, the better. Happy Sunday.
It is written: “‘As surely as I live,’ says the Lord, ‘every knee will bow before me; every tongue will acknowledge God.'” Romans 14:11
