Venturing Out

Today I’m thinking of venturing out to Canadian Tire for a couple of paint brushes. It will be my first retail experience in three months if you don’t count getting my snow tires changed over. Back in the eighties, one of my daughters gave me the following quote in the form of a wall plaque. It will be in my mind the whole time I’m out.

Lord, help me to remember that nothing is going to happen today that You and I can’t handle together.

Dressed to the Nines

I am not a fan of fashion simply because shopping for clothes is one of my least favorite pastimes. Mind you, seeing someone else dressed to the nines in the latest trends tends to inspire me to at least scout out a mannequin or two in a couple of “tailored to oldies” windows in a nearby plaza or mall.

However, finding the perfect tailor like the One who outfitted this charming creature would be an answer to my aversion to clothes shopping.

Again, scripture says it beautifully: Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. Matthew 6:29 NIV

(The scripture actually refers to lilies of the fields but I’m leaning on poetic license here.)

In This House

While shopping in some quaint and unique out of town shops, I discovered a sign with the following words:

In This House…We do second chances…we do grace…we do mistakes…we do real…we do I’m sorry…we do loud really well…WE DO HUGS…we do love…we do family…

I liked it enough to share it here…
