Born Free

Do you ever feel that you are a slave to a life of busyness, illness, pain, commercialism…all the things that prevent us from enjoying the life we were meant to live? Sometimes just hearing a lovely peace of music can remind us that through it all we were born free and one day we will be free again.

Love Always

Today is known as Maundy Thursday…the Thursday before Easter, observed in the Christian Church as a commemoration of the Last Supper, the last meal Jesus shared with his disciples before his death.

Maundy also means “commandment”, and at that last meal, “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.” John 13:34

And that is what Jesus was/is all about…Love…not only in this Holy week but always.

Sunshine Mountain

When I was a child, I learned to sing “Climb, Climb Up Sunshine Mountain”. The music and words made me feel happy and free. I heard it on You Tube yesterday and it still made me feel happy and free. I hope it makes you feel the same way. Happy Sunday.

1 Corinthians 13:11 When I was a child, I spoke and thought and reasoned as a child. But when I grew up, I put away childish things. (But not all of them, obviously.)

Let It Be

There is so much in our world that we don’t understand should we take the words of John Lennon of the Beatles, and the scripture,  Luke 1:38 “Then Mary said, “Here am I, the servant of the Lord; let it be with me according to your word.” Happy Sunday.

The Seekers Revisited

This post heralds another song by The Seekers, the group I posted about yesterday. Among many of their great hits is “Kumbaya” described in Wikipedia as follow:

“Kum ba yah (“Come by Here”) is a spiritual song first recorded in the 1920s. It became a standard campfire song in scouting and summer camps and enjoyed broader popularity during the folk revival of the 1950s and 1960s. The song was originally a simple appeal to God to come and help those in need.”  Happy Sunday.
