Clap Your Hands

Today is the last day of February! It brings a smile to my face and joy to my heart. Spring is on the way! Even the trees of the fields will soon clap their hands as Isaiah tells us. Enjoy the day, whatever it holds for you, and be sure to clap your hands as you envision Spring in the air and Covid-19 out of it. Happy Sunday.

“You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and hills will burst into song before you, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands. . ” Isaiah 55:12 NIV

Winter’s Rage

While housebound with yet another February snow and ice storm raging, I pass the time writing about the woes of winter in the following haiku using one of my favorite writing tools…alliteration.

Wild winds whip the snow

while winter wages white war

without a warning.

Happy Canada Day!

Flag of Canada    We’re having a heat wave but it won’t stop us from enjoying our long Canada Day weekend. Day two is expected to be another scorcher and I’m on the hunt for more “cool” pictures. Happy Sunday.

“While the earth remains, seed time and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night, shall not cease.” Genesis 8:22

Keeping Cool

We in Canada are celebrating our country’s one-hundred-and-fifty-first birthday this weekend…tomorrow actually, July 1st. There will be fireworks, parades, parties, continuing into Monday. It’s extremely hot here in Southern Ontario, but many of us will only have to think of our great Canadian winters to stay cool. Happy Saturday.

Life’s Changing Seasons

The leaves are turning yellow,

the grass with stunted growing,

is changing with the seasons,

no longer needing mowing.

Fall is falling into place

awaiting winter’s cold,

spring and summer…come and gone

like winter’s transient snow.

And life goes on…

or sometimes doesn’t;

does it really matter what was…

or what wasn’t?

What matters most is that we know

how much to love, how deep to grow;

just a few of many reasons

to appreciate life’s changing seasons.

If you are in the spring of life

or summer’s slowing pace

be prepared for autumn

to usher winter’s grace.

Though leaves are turning yellow,

And grass is withering,

summer, fall and winter await the birth of spring.
