Without a Parachute

A few years ago I tried freefall writing without really knowing much about it. Here is a very brief description I gleaned from the internet:

FREEFALL is the technique of writing from the larger Self, beyond reach of the ego and its censors. . . .FREEFALL invokes the courage to fall without a parachute, into the words as they come, into the thoughts before they have fully formed in the mind, into the unplanned structures that take shape, without prompting, to contain them. . . .

And here is the writing that plummeted from my mind onto the page; the only thing I changed was to add more punctuation than what showed in the original piece to make the writing more definable to the reader.

Come to me oh Heavenly Father and open my mind and heart to you so completely that I do not have room for anything but your word. Let the power of you fill me to overflowing with the things you would have me be and say. Oh Lord, I need you in my life as never before. Hearken to my plea, fill me with the joy I felt at the sound of your voice in 1984 when you told me All Things Are Possible. Continue to lead me, oh Lord, make me aware, let me write for you and only you. Let my life be lived for you and only you. Direct my paths, free my soul, balance my life, lift my spirit, make me what I long to be for you. Create in me a clean heart, a new heart, a new mind, a new spirit. Show me where you are oh Lord and make me 100% aware of your presence in my life beginning this very minute. I the Lord of sea and sand here I am to take your hand, I will lead you all the way, I am at your side to stay, tell the people to be aware that Jesus has you in his care. He is always by your side, there is nowhere you can hide. Jesus talks to those who ask, Jesus helps you in your task. God and Holy Spirit too, all are here just for you and you and you. Everyone is in their care, only make yourselves aware of their presence in your life. Thank them then be on your way, you will feel them when you pray. Going home is what they call giving you their all. So my friends take this advice, it’s from Jesus our Lord and Christ, the savior of our lives, the savior of our lives. Come alive my little child, I have called you from the wildness of your will. I will my word in you instill and then you will do MY will and I will help you, don’t dismay, I am with you every day for eternity.

This was my one and only attempt at free-fall writing and although I don’t know the date, I do know it was about ten years ago or more. It boggles my mind that these words flowed so freely and unabashedly as if from another realm. And I’m grateful.
