Thomas Kinkade was known as the Painter of Light because of the beautiful hints of light in all of his paintings. Here are a few more of his quotes.
Feed your heart with beauty.
Somewhere out there is a unique place for you to serve, a unique life role for you to fill.
Condition yourself for joy by doing little things you love on a regular basis.
Even the most mundane tasks can be transformed into inspiring sources of joy.
Opening our eyes to beauty really means opening our hearts and imaginations.
Beauty enters your heart to all the senses.
Keep your eyes open for the signs of spiritual reality hiding behind a familiar disguise.
Only you can make your particular contribution to humankind.
We live far more joyfully when we allow ourselves a playful spirit.
Don’t be afraid to go deep, to dig out a spiritual reality that might not be readily discernible at first glance.
More to come.
Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control…this is the fruit of the Spirit. Galatians 5:22
There are days it is evident that this fruit is an integral part of our lives, if not all of it, at least some…other days, not so much. May we experience a full crop today. Happy Sunday.
“For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.” Matthew 18:20 NIV
This Sunday we at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Scarborough will be gathering in His name under the trees replicating a service in 1818, kicking off our 200th anniversary celebrations. This is just a hint of what’s to come. Happy Sunday.
You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and hills will burst into song before you, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands. Isaiah 55:12
Part of my Saturday will be spent at a Celebration of Life ceremony for a long-time friend and member of our congregation…it’s part of life, after all. May your Saturday be spent celebrating life in whatever way brings you peace, joy and happiness. Happy weekend.
You will have many choices this weekend…as this quote says, choose well. Happy Saturday.
Yesterday I was treated to another show of birds in my yard but what really caught my eye was a very plump robin on the birdbath. He leaned in to take a drink and leaned back to swallow it. After a few seconds of watching this, a song came to my mind. You guessed it…Rockin’ Robin. I found it on You Tube and before long was getting a day’s worth of exercise. Oh, those birds bring me so much joy!
Need a little exercise? Just dance along with Rockin’ Robin and his feathered friends on Jay Bird Street, the buzzard, oriole, pretty little raven and the gang. Go ahead, enjoy the movement, and if you have bad knees, you can bop in your chair. Have fun!
…a time to mourn and a time to dance…Ecclesiastes 3:4 NIV
