Sunshine in a Dark Place

Although the world looks dark at the moment with all the closures, social distancing, dying, frustration, anxiety, etc., when I think of my family and friends and the closeness we can still share via social media it brings a smile to my face and hope to my heart. This little image is for all of you who light up my life.

Send Me

In the summer of 1999 I heard the hymn. I the Lord of Sea and Sky. I’m sure I had heard it many times before , but this particular time it touched my heart and brought tears to my eyes. I had just retired from business and wondered, ‘what next’. It didn’t happen overnight but gradually my life became that of caregiver, prayer giver, Elder, and whatever else God laid on my heart to do. It is 2020 and I am still holding His people in my heart. TYG. Happy Sunday.

Life’s Angels

To follow up on last Wednesday’s blog, I found another angel song that touched me; and also another scripture about angels. I’m so happy to find my angels again. Happy Saturday.

Then I looked and heard the voice of many angels, numbering thousands upon thousands, and ten thousand times ten thousand. Revelation 5:11

In the Arms of an Angel

Music can have a healing and comforting effect when life serves up unpalatable portions of insomnia, depression, anxiety, health issues, and other problems that rob us of a peaceful and fulfilling life.

Here is one of my favorite songs that brings comfort when any of the above threaten my well-being.

Is That True?

While getting my hair cut yesterday, a stylist asked a gentleman across the way what kind of hair cut he would like. He answered, “I’m easy; I’m sixty-six and there comes a time in life when you get to take a vacation from always caring what you look like.”

Is that true? Happy Saturday.

Help My Unbelief

There are people, believers and unbelievers, who have a difficult time understanding and taking to heart the fact that God has a wonderful plan for our lives. (Jeremiah 29:11)

Things crop up in our lives that put restraints on the plans we have made, and that is the time to wonder if maybe God has other plans at this particular time. I choose to believe this is the case and believe that His plans are far superior to mine, whether they seem for my own good or not.

Mark tells a story of Jesus healing a boy with an “evil spirit” after the boy’s father asks Him to “help my unbelief”.

Shall we also say, “I do believe; help be overcome my unbelief!” (Mark 9:24

An Error in Time

On Monday, Oct. 21, I posted What are the Chances. One of my sons has corrected me on the time frame of that memory.

I noted that my niece had passed away twenty years ago at the age of eighteen when in fact it was forty years ago.

On my part that was a simple error in time. But time does have a way of passing so quickly that we do lose track of it.

Does that make the recording of last Thursday’s event any more impactful? I’m not sure. What I am sure of is that whether it was one year or fifty years in time passage, the impact on me that day will remain with me for the rest of my life.
