Is there anything more comforting in this world than to be able to trust completely?
I am starting out my brand new year once again placing complete trust in God because I know that I can trust him with my life and all its happenings. I sometimes get excited waiting to see what He has in store for me next.
When we trust in the Lord completely it is not difficult to get excited about what He does in our lives. I have often said to Him, “Lord, I hope you know what you are doing in this situation because I sure don’t.” And lo and behold, the perfect solution is manifested in ways that I never would have expected…or sometimes, even chosen.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
The artist, Thomas Kinkaid, known as the painter of light, is also known for his uplifting thoughts of which I share a few here:
Life offers second chances.
You’ll never know if life can be trusted until you take the risk of really living.
Approach every day of your life with dedication.
To gain a fresh perspective on your world, try looking at life through the eyes of a child.
Life, even a balanced, harmonious life, was never meant to be static and unchanging.
Life offers courage and strength and humor to cope with the inevitable negatives.
If you want little gifts of joy in your life…you may actually have to train yourself to notice them.
Life, if you have eyes to see the whole picture, brims with meaning, with purpose.
I’ll have more Kinkaid quotes in a few days.
Today many people are needing peace, comfort and strength in the face of losing someone near and dear to them. I pray that tranquility will touch their lives as they surrender to one of the wonders of life. May your Sunday be blessed with the peace that passes all understanding. (Philippeans 4:7)

Don’t let the hurricanes of life knock the wind out of your sails. Happy Saturday.

Today’s post is a repeat and can be referred to as “an oldie, but a goody”. It is God’s advice for a good life. Happy Sunday.
Drink the living water……….John 4:10
Eat the bread of life……….John 6:35
Wear the full armor of God……….Ephesians 6:11
Rest in Jesus……….Matthew 11:28
Breathe in the Holy Spirit……….John 20:22
Do Not Worry……….Matthew 6:5
(Laugh often) A cheerful heart is good medicine…………..Proverbs 17:22 (brackets mine)
How many of us have had this sentence pronounced on us after disclosing a thought or ailment. Well, it turns out it is true, whatever it is is all in our mind.
Many books convey information on the subconscious mind and I, for one, find it fascinating. More than once I have read that the subconscious mind is an obedient servant and whatever we tell it, it obeys. I gleaned this from a book in 1984 “…the subconscious mind has no sense of humor. It cannot take a joke. It does not chuckle in amusement if we make such statements as , ‘That’s a real pain in the neck!’ On the contrary, to the subconscious mind, an order has been given and, like any good servant, it goes about its business to achieve the goal to which it has been assigned…in this case, a pain in the neck.”
My late husband constantly complained about everything being a pain in the neck and he suffered from chronic neck pain. I read the above passage to him one evening and suggested he try to stop telling himself that everything was a pain in the neck.
Well, he really tried to heed this advice and it took some time but his neck pain was gone.
Someone else constantly complained that everything was a pain in the — (backside). This person died of painful colorectal cancer.
Our minds are truly an amazing part of our being, and learning more about our subconscious mind can be extremely helpful in living life to a fuller extent.
Seeing this little black capped chickadee being quiet among the blossoms reminds me to also take time out to be still and quiet.
We all need reminders in the ordinariness of life to take time out to reflect on our purpose for being here, our connectedness to each other, our need for compassion and tolerance, and most of all our desire for all things good and our need to combat all things that are not good.
Reminders are important because without them we tend to forget that we are our brothers’ keepers…and our sisters, daughters, sons, parents, grandparents, spouses, neighbors, countrymen and humanity in general.
So, like this little black capped chickadee, let us sit among the blossoms and let it be a reminder to breathe in the scent of life as we would have it be.

After suffering the consequences of a dripping water faucet (higher water bills) I decided a DIY (do it yourself) was in order. A conversation with one of my granddaughters led me to a You Tube tutorial which detailed the procedure.
The faucet is a Moen which carries a lifetime warranty but of course, after twenty-five years the receipt was long gone. A trip to Home Depot to get the needed cartridge proved Moen’s policy…the cartridge was free!
Replacing the cartridge was no easy task for this eighty-one-year-old great-grandmother but perseverance paid off. An hour later the faucet was fixed. (Hate to admit a guy could have done it in ten minutes.)
Thanks to my granddaughter’s advice, Home Depot’s ready compliance, Moen’s steadfast promise and my own tenacity, the faucet is now dripless and still has a lifetime guarantee.
Wouldn’t it be nice if life came with the same warranty? Happy Saturday.
“A hockey stick-shaped cloud seen in Saskatoon and shared by Canadian hockey star Hayley Wickenheiser is being regarded as a tribute to the victims of the Humboldt Broncos bus crash that killed 16 people.” This is a news clip I saw on Twitter last night and I find it very comforting.
