The Bible on Prosperity

There have been many books written about money and prosperity including The Wealthy Barber by David Chilton, The Millionaire Next Door by Thomas Stanley and William Danko, Your Money and Your Brain by Jason Zweig, just to name a few: all wonderful books, I’m sure.

And then there is The Bible by God.  Here are just a few excerpts from the Bible on prosperity and money.

I am the Lord your God who teaches you to profit…Isaiah 48:17 NASB

Now I know that the Lord will prosper me…Judges 17:13 ESV

Submit to God and be at peace with him; in this way prosperity will come to you. Job 22:21 NIV

After Job had prayed for his friends, the Lord made him prosperous again…Job 42:10 NIV

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you…Jeremiah 29:11 NIV

My God will meet all your needs…Philippians 4:19 NIV

Whatever he does prospers. Psalms 1:3 NIV

You will be made rich in every way…2 Corinthians 9:11 NIV

But remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth…Deuteronomy 8:18 NIV

On the first day of every week, each one of you should set aside a sum of money in keeping with his income…1 Corinthians 16:2 NIV

And there are many more but I’ll stop here. I have to admit that Jeremiah 29:11 is my all-time favorite, and is mentioned in “My Precious Life”. As long as God has plans for me I am happy. Who wouldn’t be?

  1. Jeremiah 29:11 is my favorite too. It has offered so much meaning and strength to me durning the trials of the last few years. If I were a tattoo kind of person, I would definitely have one with that verse on it. These others are great too. Thank you for sharing this reminder. It’s such a wonderful feeling to know our God will take care of us and loves us enough to put a plan in place for our lives. 😊
