Removing the Stumbling Block

Sometimes we are our own stumbling blocks. We can’t get to where we want to go because of the need to be in control at all times; not only of our own lives but the lives of others.

We are inclined to blame anyone or anything for the circumstances we find ourselves in but find no fault of our own.

It pays huge dividends to look and think outside the box…to see the big picture and where we fit into it.

Soul searching is the best tool for opening the door to a more meaningful, satisfying and peaceful life.

Taking inventory of the negative thoughts and feelings we have harbored over the years, viewing them for what they are, and telling ourselves “You can afford to let go of that” will ultimately have a freeing effect and set us on the road to a more meaningful life.

Just as we have our teeth, eyes, bodies examined regularly, so should we examine our inner being on a regular basis because it can often be the cause of our discontent, depression and anxiety.

We must learn to live an examined life..preferably on a daily basis, and if we find that self examination is not doing it for us then seeking a trusted mentor can often be of help.

Sincerity is key. It does no good to skim the surface. Digging deep into our inner being and being open to finding our stumbling block is the only way to remove it.

Ephesians 3:16 says it well, “May God, according to the riches of his glory, grant you to be strengthened in your inner being through his Spirit”.
