The Final Exam

Well known and long time Canadian politician, John Crosbie has died at the age of 88.

He was known for a sharp tongue and quick wit.

It is said he was an avid reader and when once asked what book he was currently reading, his reply was, “The Bible; I want to be prepared for my final exam.”

Not bad advice, I’d say. Happy Saturday.

  1. Way back in the eighties in the month of February I had a Friday business appointment in St John’s NL and couldn’t get a flight out until Sunday night via Ottawa. Locals called it the “politician’s flight” as they headed back to Parliament, John was right in the middle of them toward the rear of the plane and kept them chortling and laughing all the way. A man of strong character and full of wit indeed.
