Extraordinary Times

Here is a page from that little magazine Our Daily Bread, August 24/08. Happy Sunday.

God has not promised that your life will be easy; indeed it may not be. But he has promised to sustain you in your struggle and uphold you with his mighty arm. If you trust him, he will empower you to make your way bravely through extraordinary difficulty with hope, faith and love. God will not allow you to be pressed beyond endurance.

To Your Self Be True

This is a repeat of a 2015 post because there are some younger people who need to hear it today (maybe some older also).

Act in the way that is true to your intelligence and beliefs.

Remember that no one can rob you of your power unless you allow them to do so.

Stand tall and face indignity with dignity, and indecency with decency.

Look truth in the face and use it to overcome deceit.

Remember the respect you have for yourself and those you love, and let no one rob you of that respect.

Always use your inner strength to walk away from a bad situation, and where possible take someone with you who needs to lean on your strength until they discover their own.

Remember that you are loved dearly by those who matter. Love yourself just as dearly, always.

“I’ve Got This”

There are many people going through different difficulties at this time. Some are known to me, others are known to you, and still others inhabit different parts of this planet.

When we are in the throes of some crisis or other it is so nice to hear someone say the words that will bring us some comfort and peace.

I pray that those of you who need to hear those words will hear a friend or loved one or even that still, small voice say, “I’ve got this.”

A Piece of Cake

We’ve all heard or spoken the phrase, “It’s a piece of cake!” or “It was a piece of cake!” or “It will be a piece of cake!”

This well known idiom is a way of saying something was very easy to accomplish. Sometimes our days are not so easy to get through and we need someone to encourage us with this lovely message that I received in my inbox last week. Happy Saturday.

One Day at a Time

After having recent conversations with people about the trials in their lives and how they are trying to cope, I remembered the following lyrics to a great song, “One Day at a Time”. This song got me through some pretty trying times in the first part of this twenty-first century and it seems right to share it here.

One Day at a Time

I’m only human, I’m just a woman (man)

Help me believe in what I could be and all that I am

Show me the stairway I have to climb

Lord for my sake, teach me to take one day at a time.

One day at a time sweet Jesus, that’s all I’m asking of you

Just give me the strength to do every day what I have to do

Yesterday’s gone sweet Jesus and tomorrow may never be mine

Lord, help me today, show me the way one day at a time.

Do you remember when you walked among men

Well Jesus you know if you’re looking below, it’s worse now than then

Pushing and shoving, violence and crime

Lord for my sake, teach me to take one day at a time.

One day at a time sweet Jesus, that’s all I’m asking of you

Just give me the strength to do every day what I have to do

Yesterday’s gone sweet Jesus and tomorrow may never be mine

Lord, help me today, show me the way one day at a time.

The song was written by Marijohn Wilkin in collaboration with Kris Kristofferson.

Steve – A Blessing in Bloggersville

Today, I’d like to pay homage to a new friend in Bloggersville. His name is Steve. Steve is recovering from a hip and leg injury suffered from a fall in July. Steve thinks he is behind in replying to other people’s bogs, but believe me, he is way ahead of the game. This young man (he sounds like a young man) is the epitome of encouragement to me; always commenting positively on so many of my posts that it keeps a permanent smile on my face.

Steve is a Christian and introduces himself this way:

THE TRUE LIGHT!

I am happy to share my Christian faith with you in various ways. I belong to a non-denominational group of Christians modeled after the New Testament church described in Acts chapter two. My intent is to worship God while in service to others. I believe in promoting Godly love, because the Lord God IS love! Please contact us here or at our website for more information! Thank you so much!

I am happy to share Steve’s site with you because he writes profoundly beautiful and inspiring works.

Wishing you well with your recovery, Steve, and thank you for shining your light on My Precious Life.
